Synology has introduced the DiskStation DS220+. The networked attached storage is the successor to the DiskStation DS218+ released in 2017 and still has two drive bays and contains an Intel Celeron dualcore as a CPU.
The DiskStation DS220 + has an Intel Celeron J4025 with two cores at 2.0GHz and a boost up to 2.9GHz. This dualcore is also included in the already existing DS420 +. The new Network-attached storage (NAS) has just like its predecessor, two drive bays with space for two 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives.
There is 2GB of DDR4 memory on board, which can be expanded to 6GB. There are also two USB 3.0 ports and two gigabit LAN ports. The size of the DS220 + is 165x108x232.2mm and the nas weighs 1.3kg. Synology does not mention a suggested retail price, but the product might range for about 350 euros.
