Sony Ericsson continues in the vein of Android smartphones with Xperia mini-models i.e. Xperia Mini and Mini Pro. It began in 2010 with the Xperia X10 Mini and Mini Pro smartphone in a compact size but carrying a full Android system and can be offered at attractive prices.
Sony Ericsson continues in this direction with the announcement of the Mini and Xperia Mini Pro smartphone (the latter with a sliding keyboard), this time in Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Still very compact and lightweight, they are both equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 1 GHz and a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash on the back and the possibility of video recording in 720p, plus a VGA camera in front for videoconferencing.
Compact but Android Gingerbread
They have a tactile display 3-inch i.e. 320 x 480 pixels with Bravia mobile technology and have the touch overlay own Xperia models appropriate to their display. The home screen can accommodate up to 16 applications.
Note the presence of a feature inside Facebook Xperia providing deep integration of social network in the interface of these smartphones. They are equipped with WiFi wireless connectivity, Bluetooth, module A-GPS and various sensors.
Xperia Mini Pro model also includes a full sliding keyboard that thickens slightly (18 mm against 16 mm for the Xperia Mini) but transforms it into true messaging device to take with you everywhere thanks to its small size.
With its 1200 mAh battery, but it will not count on more than 5 to 6 hours of talk time and around 340h standby. Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini and Mini Pro will be available in several colors from the third quarter of 2011.
