Known for its close collaboration with AMD in the market for graphics cards, Sapphire is launched in the nettop, introducing a model with Intel and Nvidia. Sapphire HD Edge effectively integrates an Intel Atom dual-core D510 with a 1.66GHz Nvidia ION 2. The configuration is complemented by 2GB of DDR2 RAM and a 2.5-inch hard disk for data storage capacity of 250GB.
The chassis, measuring 19.3 x 14.8 x 2.2 cm per 530 grams, sports a large range of ports. It includes four USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 802.11n, audio jacks, VGA and HDMI output, which allows you to connect your PC to a television mini Fill HD. Sapphire HD Edge was only announced at the time, but will be available in the coming week with a starting price of 290 € (around Rs. 17,897/-), with no operating system installed.
The Sapphire solution comes into direct competition with other nettop, among which ZBox of Zotac , another manufacturer of graphics cards.
