Samsung has chosen to include 8 GB of flash memory on the motherboard to qualify for express-caching technology. This allows for faster start-up from sleep mode, according to Samsung in just two seconds.
Furthermore, Samsung has opted for a special display for the Series 7 laptops. Samsung has chosen latest ‘MAX screen’ screen technology, that allows the best use of space in the 15-inch laptop and is very narrow rim around it, this feels like a 15 inch laptop as 14 inch, Samsung said.
“After the success of the 9 Series notebook, we are expanding our offerings further premium notebooks. We have new, powerful features and sophisticated design combined with a very special notebook as a result,” said Jos Beernink, director of IT Division Samsung Electronics Benelux.
Samsung has introduced several versions of the Series 7, including one for gamers. To begin with there is the basic model of the 7 Series 700Z CHRONOS. It is equipped with an Intel Core i7 2675QM processor, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, an AMD Radeon graphics card with 1GB DDR5 HD6750M memory, a 750GB SATA drive and 8 GB of cache Express. Furthermore, this laptop has a 1.3 megapixel webcam, a DVD burner and HD Audio. This laptop comes with a 15 inch and 15.6-inch anti-glare screen with a maximum resolution of 1600×900 pixels. The laptop weighs 2.31 kg and is only 14.25 inches wide. This laptop starts at 999 euros.
Then there’s the gaming model, which is much less mobile and 3.8 kg with a lot heavier. The Series 7 700g Gamer is also equipped with a 17-inch super-bright full-HD display, an Intel Quad Core i7 processor, 8 GB of DDR3 memory, AMD Radeon HD6970M card with 2GB of DDR5 memory, two 750 GB hard drives and 8GB Express to cache and a Blu-Ray player. This model is a bit more expensive than the above and starting at 1799 euros.
