Samsung announced the introduction of NC215S, its first netbook model powered by solar energy. Samsung NC215S netbook is very similar to Samsung NC210, however the product is intended particularly innovative as it works to solar energy.
Equipped with a 10.1-inch screen with anti glare, the Samsung NC215S has a solar panel built into its hull, for supplying the PC. For two hours of charging in the sun, you can enjoy one hour of battery life. In addition, the netbook has a 6 cell battery which through PowerPlus technology, offers a range of up to 14 hours.
The Samsung NC215S hardware includes a single processor or heart Pineview Atom N455 clocked at 1.66 GHz or a dual processor heart Pineview Atom at 1.66 GHz. It will take about 1 GB of RAM with DDR3 and Intel GMA X3150 graphics chip.
Samsung NC215S features includes an SD card reader along with webcam, VGA, headphone, microphone, Ethernet and USB 2.0. Note also the integration of technology Sleep’N’Charge, can be used to charge a USB device, even when the PC is in standby or off.
The Samsung NC215S is currently reserved for the Russian market. It will be available in August 2011 and the price of the netbook is expected to be around $300 in US & $500 in Russia.
