Nubia will release its previously announced Red Magic 5S game smartphone in Europe from September 2 for a price of € 579. The new phone has a Snapdragon 865-soc on board and has a 144Hz OLED screen.
Currently, Red Magic 5S can only be pre-ordered, but the phone will be available worldwide from September 2. In Europe, this includes a price of € 579. That price applies to the variant with 8GB lpddr5 memory 128GB ufs 3.1 storage, while the variant with 12GB ram and 256GB storage has a price tag of € 649.
The phone has an OLED screen with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and a diagonal of 6.65-inch. The screen is 15.4×7.1cm, has an area of 109 square centimeters and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9.
According to Nubia, the device is equipped with an improved cooling system, which includes a fan for active cooling and a silver-plated cooling pad. That fan, which will spin during heavy use and fast charging, would bring about 4.3 percent improved ventilation. The Ice Dock accessory, which can be purchased separately and specifically designed for the Red Magic 5S, costs $ 44.90 and is designed to keep the temperature of the phone in check during intensive gaming sessions. The accessory works via a USB-C connection and can be attached to the phone.
Qualcomm’s integrated X55 modem supports 5G connections and the housing features capacitive shoulder buttons, which, according to the manufacturer, are more responsive and accurate due to their 320Hz specification. Nubia’s Red Magic 5S has a battery with a capacity of 4500mAh. Fast charging is supported up to 55W, although a maximum charging power of 18W is possible via the included Quick Charge 3.0 charger.
