Microsoft’s cloud gaming service Project xCloud will be available from September as part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The price remains unchanged at thirteen euros per month. The streaming service is still in a test phase.
Cloud gaming will be available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in “supported countries,” Microsoft reports. The Netherlands and Belgium are probably also included, because the test with the service is also available in those countries. With Project xCloud, Xbox games can be streamed to smartphones and tablets. Tweakers published a preview of Project xCloud in May .
For the time being there does not seem to be a separate Project xCloud subscription. Microsoft only mentions the ability to use it as part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. That subscription also provides access to a library of over a hundred games that can be installed locally on an Xbox and Windows 10 PC. In addition, Xbox Live Gold is included.
Games played through Project xCloud run on Xbox consoles in Microsoft server parks. The images are streamed to an app that can be used on Android devices. An iOS app is also under development, it may come out in September, when the service is available. In the future there will also be a Windows app, but Microsoft does not yet mention it.
