Late last year, we reported rumors about a tablet with two screens and manufactured by NEC. Under the name of NEC LT-W, this model was very common at CES 2011. The tablet NEC LT-W has two 7-inch screen (800×600 pixel) touchscreen resistive. Thanks to a first use, we can provide you with feedback on the comfort and characteristics of components used. The screens are of good quality and can be used with both small pen-shaped instrument or your finger.
The configuration is based on an ARM Cortex-A8. NEC LT-W module also integrates a WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, GPS and 3G modem also (optionally). It will be equipped with an SDHC card reader, a 3-megapixel webcam and a USB port. Although the concept seems interesting, you must make some tweaks mainly on the reactivity and the speed of the system.
At the moment we do not know if NEC is planning to deploy its dual-screen tablet also outside the Japanese market in the U.S. and Europe.
