The long-awaited update to the Android HTC Wildfire 2.3 (Gingerbread) will be available by the end of this month. This is the latest in a long story starring your HTC smartphone. Initially, the HTC Desire was to be updated to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), as HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z models.
The information was spread in Barcelona, during MWC 2010 with its launch date scheduled for the month of June. In mid-June, however, the situation is reversed. On the Facebook Wall, HTC cancels the update. After a series of disputes, complaints and negative feedbacks, HTC had to take a step back the next day, announcing a nearby availability. A few hours later, however, indicates that HTC is not the update would include all applications, due to lack of memory.
On 1 July they started the first test and yesterday, one can read a new message on Facebook: “We have good news about HTC Desire with Gingerbread. Our tests are positive, then we will begin to distribute the update by the end of July”. Let’s just hope it’s the right time!
