Google removes 8 apps from Play Store for spying users

A new batch of infected applications has been discovered on the Google Play Store, in total 8 applications from the list. Google has just removed a new batch of 8 applications from its Play Store which have been identified by Avast experts as containing malware.

These applications baptized SMS Tracker, Phone Cell Tracker, Employee Work Spy clearly displayed their primary intention, but they were intended to be installed on the smartphones of victims above all.

The 8 apps thus offered to collect geolocation data, SMS, address book, call history to organize the monitoring of individuals. Whether it was a spouse, a child, an employee, an acquaintance, a competitor. The goal was always the same, to monitor the activity of their smartphone.

The 8 applications have accumulated more than 140,000 installations before being ousted from the Play Store.

Invisible on the victims’ smartphones, you have to go to the Android storage manager to view the list and try to locate them, in order to uninstall them if necessary.
