Gmail down as Google services suffer major outage

Google has an outage with Gmail and various G Suite services. There are issues with Meet, Docs and Drive, among others. Among other things, Gmail users report that they cannot send emails with attachments or upload files to Drive.

Google reports on its G Suite Status Dashboard that there is an outage with several services. Since half past seven in the morning, Google has been aware of the problems and is investigating what is going on. The company says it will come up with an update at 10:09 AM.

There are problems with Gmail, Drive, Docs, Groups, Chat, Meet, Keep and Voice. Not all parts of G Suite were affected, according to the status dashboard, Google Calendar, Sheets, Slides and Sites, among others, work without problems.

Sending emails without attachments works for some users, but may be delayed. The problems seem to be mainly related to uploading files, such as attachments in Gmail or uploads to Drive. The cause of the malfunction is unknown.

Update 9:49 AM: According to Google, these are issues with sending Gmail, recording with Meet, creating files in Drive, posting messages in Chat, and uploading CSVs in Admin Console.

Update 9:53 AM: Google also has an outage with its Cloud infrastructure. May be the problems with the other services are related to that.
