Dell has announced desktop computers in its XPS line that are more compact than previous generations. In addition, the company comes with new monitors in the S-series, with dimensions from 27 to 32 inches.
Dell refers to the desktop systems under the simple name New XPS Desktop with type designation 8940 and there is also a Special Edition with more powerful hardware as standard. The case content is 19 liters, versus 24 liters for the previous XPS desktop generation. Dell builds in up to a 500W psu to power video cards with a tdp up to 225W.
As far as video cards are concerned, Dell offers a wide range of models. With the regular XPS desktop that is a maximum of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super with 8GB gddr6, but with the special edition there is also the choice for an RTX 2070 Super.
In addition, according to Dell, the AMD Radeon RX 5600 is an option. The company also lists the unannounced RX 5300. The processor is at least an Intel Core i3-10100 and at most an i9-10900. In the Special Edition, these are the i5-10400 and the i9-10900K respectively.
The starting price in the US is $ 650. The new XPS desktops are not yet available on the Dutch and Belgian Dell websites.
