ASUS ROG Zephyrus G (GA502) is a new gaming notebook, among the thinnest and lightest on the market, equipped with the recently launched AMD Ryzen 7-3750 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti APUs. Already on sale in the USA for the price of 1199 dollars.
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus gaming notebook series is characterized by medium-high-end models, mainly aimed at users with the passion (or profession) for gaming, but the new ASUS ROG Zephyrus G (GA502) is very different. We could define it as an entry-level class, with a plastic frame with a metallic finish (instead of aluminum alloy as in the more expensive models) and overall compact dimensions for a 15.6-inch laptop (measuring 360 x 252 x 19.9 mm and weighs 2.1Kg ). In short, ASUS ROG Zephyrus G is a gaming notebook that is more unique than rare, also because it is equipped with an AMD Ryzen processor and Nvidia graphics .
On the occasion of the launch, ASUS will make available only one configuration (at the price of 1199 dollars) with an AMD Ryzen 7 3750H and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics with 6GB of GDDR6 memory, but we do not exclude that in the coming months can be added other cheaper SKUs .
Therefore, if the other Zephyrus notebooks feature the ninth generation Intel Coffee Lake-H processors, Zephyrus G (GA502) is based on the most powerful AMD Ryzen Mobile chip launched to date: Ryzen 7 3750H is a quad-core (8 threads) from 35W with frequency of 2.3GHz and up to 4GHz (Boost). It also has integrated Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics, which should offer decent performance for all basic tasks, but the dedicated Nvidia graphics will give an extra boost in gaming, video editing and all other operations that require a bit of power.
ASUS ROG Zephyrus G is equipped with a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) vIPS display, optionally 60Hz or 120Hz, up to 32GB of DDR4-2400 RAM and 256GB or 512GB SSD PCIe NVMe storage. The interface kit includes an RJ-45 (Ethernet), HDMI 2.0b, 3.5 mm audio jack, a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen port and three USB 3.1 Type-A ports, in addition to WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 modules . Do not miss a 76Wh battery and a 180 watt power supply, a white backlit keyboard (and not RGB) slightly moved forward and two stereo speakers. Interesting, though probably too daring, the choice not to integrate a webcam.
At the moment we do not know if ASUS ROG Zephyrus G will ever be marketed in Asia (including india), but we are certain that we will know more about it at the end of May.
