Acer has announced its first Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) Smartphone named “Acer Allegro”, which will run on Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system. The company is planning to introduce its new Acer Allegro Smartphone by the end of December in Europe before Christmas at a recommended retail price of EUR 299.
The device has the appearance of the so-called candy bar model. The latest Acer Allegro could be Microsoft’s one last shot to place satisfying sales numbers for its Windows Phone 7.5 Mango schedule. he Allegro features a 3.6-inch WVGA capacitive screen with a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels. The phone features a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus. Furthermore, the device has a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM 8255 processor (the same processor as the Xperia Play), WiFi, Bluetooth, DLNA support and 8 GB of storage.
The unit will be in stores around the holidays for sale. Acer asking $ 299 for the device. Hopefully it will have the build quality to go along with the Windows Phone 7 experience.
