Entry system by dragging a finger on a virtual keyboard, Swype is now available in version 3.0 beta for the Android platform.

In terms of text entry on a mobile device, touch-screen keyboard is still king despite attempts by other devices such as voice recognition. But the keyboard can also have its drawbacks (slow typing, typing errors).

Swype, is a technique not to type letter by letter but to drag his finger on the keyboard of a letter to the other, in combination with a prediction engine. This device is described as faster than the traditional input while minimizing typing errors and manipulations of correction.

The start-up Swype was closely monitored by the strategic investment fund of several manufacturers (Samsung, Nokia) and its system has been pre-installed on various mobile devices running Android (Motorola, Samsung) while a version is available for Symbian.
