HP Tablet TouchPad WLAN under WebOS version would be finally available in Europe and North America from July.
Announced in February, just days before the MWC 2011 in Barcelona, the HP Tablet TouchPad is the first to board the platform and a WebOS 1.5 GHz dual core processor Qualcomm’s Snapdragon.
Previously only available on mobile handsets, WebOS on shelf was one of the pleasant surprises of the MWC its ergonomics and capabilities. The HP Tablet TouchPad is the first entry on this HP product category converged, before an expansion of the OS to other products such as laptops.
The HP tablet comes in an already very competitive between the shelf iPad, already many tablets Android, BlackBerry in the shelf Playbook Tablet OS and several shelves on Windows 7, Windows on pending ARM.
After several months of gestation and demonstrations, the availability of the HP Tablet TouchPad, which was set in summer 2011, has been specified. Its marketing is planned for early July in Europe (France, Germany, Ireland, United Kingdom) and the United States, and from mid-July in Canada.
It will be available as both WiFi and 16GB at a price of 479 € and 32 € for 579 GB (or slightly less expensive than comparable iPad tablet), with pre-orders starting in Europe and North America from June 19 Accessories, such as the Base Station or wireless TouchStone HP wireless keyboard touchpad will also be offered.
