Google currently is reportedly testing its telephony service, Google Voice in Europe. It is unclear when the final service will be launched in Europe. Google Voice is a service where calls and text messages to any phone can be forwarded to a single number from Google. The user can set the ringtone to sound like a particular number is dialed.
Voice provides additional functions such as using voice recognition to convert voicemail messages into SMS or email messages, which can be sent to a phone. Also, calls can easily be recorded and listened.
Google Voice, not to be confused with other Google services such as Voice Search and dial from Gmail, has been working for 2.5 years in the United States and is based on the service from Grand Central. Google should make deals with telecom providers to the service in one country to roll out. A Dutch launch is not clear.
