The milestone of 10 billion downloads of mobile applications on the App Store portal was crossed this weekend.

It will not take long to witness the crossing of the symbolic threshold of 10 billion downloads of applications on the portal launched by Apple App Store since July 2008, almost immediately after the announcement of quarterly financial results new record embodying the success of its mobile strategy.

A nice result, given that the 5 billion downloads had been completed in June 2010, while the portal now includes more than 300,000 mobile applications, indicating a still strong interest from developers and this while portals competitors have proliferated.

Except GetJar, which claims to be the second mobile application portal, behind that of Apple, but by playing the diversity card is the Android Market, Google seems to enjoy a nice curve of growth, helped by sales of terminal multiplicative increasingly numerous and diverse.
