According to the latest reports, AMD desktop bulldozers would arrive on October 12. The first shipment of AMD Bulldozer CPUs is expected by mid-October. AMD starts with three different models in the FX Series, codenamed Zambezi, which included two 8-core processors, the FX 8120 and FX-8150, and a 6-core processor, the FX-6100.
The new processors from AMD will be quite aggressively priced, with the ‘flagship’ FX-8150 expected to cost $245, while the FX-8120 and FX-6100 will go for $205 and $175, respectively.
Looking at the clock speeds we see that the FX-8150 will come with a clock speed of 3.6 GHz (4.2 GHz in Turbo mode), the FX-8120 gets a 3.1 GHz clock speed (4 GHz in Turbo mode) and the FX-6100 gets a 3.3 GHz clock speed (3.6 GHz in Turbo mode). All processors have 8MB of L2 cache, but there is a slight difference in the TDP. The 8-core versions have a TDP of 125 watts and the 6-core of 95 watts.
Furthermore, all three of the FX series processors have a multiplier unlocked, which is ideal for overclockers and AMD3 + socket.
