After a customer backlash, Verizon Wireless on Friday dropped a plan to start charging $2 for every payment subscribers make over the phone or online with their credit or debit cards.

In a statement on its website Friday, the company said “customer feedback” prompted the decision to drop the “convenience fee” it wanted to introduce on Jan. 15.

Bethesda has today released the first demo for RAGE onto Xbox Live. PS3 owners will be able to download the demo on December 6th. Bethesda’s launched a RAGE taster on Xbox Live Marketplace, nearly two months after the full game released. According to the demo description on the download, which is 2.03 gigabytes by the way, Rage will be discounted to just $29.99 between November 25th and November 27th at GameStop and other participating retailers.

According to Sony, the Private beta invites will be rolled out over a number of weeks leading up to Christmas and the New year, so if you miss the first round it is likely you will still get in before the year is out.
